Handwoven in loinloom (The traditional backstrap loom of Naga weavers), this is a textile piece which is used as the wrap around skirt.
Pattern belongs to the tribe called “Zeliang” from Nagaland. Size : Width- 1.60 Mertre, ; Length- 0.90
The Zeliang tribe, comprising the Zeme and Liangmai sub-tribes, shares a common Naga origin and traces its ancestry to Khezakenoma village. The Zeme are also considered part of the Tenyimia group of related tribes. Historically, they migrated southward, eventually settling in Nkiulongdi before expanding their territory. According to the 2011 Census of India, the Zeme population is 50,925
